Dental Assistant/Business Assistant

Job Overview

Come work at Tecumseh Ridge Dental in Norman. Our growing practice is seeking to hire a Dental Assistant to join our team. We are currently looking for a hybrid dental assistant/business assistant. A successful candidate works well with a team, is self-motivated and flexible. We expect you to have a friendly and welcoming attitude towards our patients and believe in the importance of customer service.

Responsibilities for Dental Assistant

Take and document patient dental history and updates, as well as overall health and medication history
Assist dentist by handling supplies and instruments as requested
Prepare tables and trays for dentist with necessary instruments and supplies
Clean and sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment rooms as needed
Take, expose, and mount high-quality dental radiographs
Ensure the appropriate supply of equipment and materials
Perform patient charting as instructed by the dentist
Welcome patients and get them situated in the appropriate treatment room
Answer phones and schedule appointments.

Qualifications for Dental Assistant

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF)
Current CPR certification preferred
Radiology certification preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines
Possess a professional and positive attitude

Part-time Dental Hygienist

We are looking to hire an experienced Dental Hygienist willing to work 1-2 days at Tecumseh Ridge Dental to help us keep growing. Responsibilities for Dental Hygienist

Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealant placement,
Complete a thorough assessment of the patient\’s teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and document any abnormalities or suspected conditions
Customize care to meet patient\’s oral health
Educate patients on good oral hygiene techniques
Aid the dentist with procedures and emergencies as needed
Maintain patient confidentiality
Provide all care in conjunction with accepted professional dental practices and standards

Qualifications for Dental Hygienist

Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene
Registered Dental Hygienist licensure in Oklahoma
Current CPR certification
1-2 years of experience working in a dental practice preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven dedication to provide high quality, comprehensive dental care
Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
